The Gianfranceschi family has his origins in the northern part of the Garda lake (then Benaco lake), at the beginning of 1800 century they moved to the south of the lake in Bardolino. At that time the Gianfranceschi family produced grapes and used to sell them to local producers. Around 1930 Pietro Gianfranceschi begins to produce and sell bulk wine for private customers. At the beginning of the 70’s the production widens and the family sells to companies that bottle and sell. In 1990 the turning point, the company takes its name “Azienda Agriocola San Zeno” and the decision was taken to bottle and sell the Bardolino Classico produced. The company currently comprises 19 hectares of land, all in the classic area, with vineyards of different types of farming and different age groups. The cellar where the wine is produced has always maintained his original seat in via San Zeno closed to the center of Bardolino. Nowadays the cellar produces and bottles the Bardolino Classico in all his variants: Bardolino Classico DOC, Bardolino Classico Superiore DOCG, Bardolino Classico Chiaretto, Bardolino Chiaretto, two different white wines, a still wine and a sparkling wine both produced from Garganega grapes and another red wine called “Freudo”, named after the vineyard where it is produced, only with Corvina grapes. We also produce olive oil from olive trees that grows in our vineyards.
